Disney Cruise Line Increases Gratuity Amount

Disney Cruise Line Increases Gratuity Amount

Disney Cruise Line announced today that they will increase gratuity from $12.00 per Guest, per night to $13.50 per Guest, per night.

Guests sailing with Disney Cruise Line have two options to pay gratuity to their service team:

  1. You can pre-pay the gratuity by adding it to your Disney Cruise Line reservation before sailing.
  2. Disney will add the gratuity to your stateroom bill on embarkation day.

If you experience any issues or situations that would require modifying the amount of the gratuity, whether increasing or reducing the amount of the gratuity, you can stop at Guest Services on board to modify the amount. During turndown service on the last full day of your cruise, your stateroom host or hostess will leave tickets and small envelopes. You can put the tickets in the envelope (with additional cash, if you'd like) and put them into a dropbox in the ship's lobby for your team. You may also personally give the envelope to the appropriate crew member.

As a reminder, the shipboard credit given as part of Out of Dodge Travel's More Magic at Sea offer can be used to pay gratuity.

If pre-paid gratuities were added to a reservation prior to today, January 18, 2019, the rate will remain $12.00 per Guest, per night. Guests adding pre-paid gratuities to their reservations beginning today, January 18, 2019, will be charged the new $13.50 per-Guest, per-night rate. For Guests without pre-paid gratuities, the new pricing will go into effect on the following dates:

  • Disney Dream: Monday, January 21, 2019 (Port Canaveral)
  • Disney Fantasy: Saturday, January 19, 2019 (Port Canaveral)
  • Disney Magic: Sunday, January 20, 2019 (Miami)
  • Disney Wonder: Sunday, January 20, 2019 (San Juan)
